How Self-Expression Springboards Work: Every Thursday I will provide a creative catalyst, a springboard to get you inspired. My catalysts will invite your imagination, creativity and curiosity to find new ways of expressing yourself - and maybe discovering new things about yourself you didn't even know you knew!
It's Easy to Participate: Take the Springboard of the week and yes, so whatever you want with it! Create a response in any way you choose. Drawing, painting, video, song, poetry, writing, collage, story telling, sound, silly putty....there are no rules to how you express yourself here.
Share what you discover on your blog and then add a direct link to your post in the box below. This way other people can enjoy what you've created and you get to witness the creations of others. It's amazing to see how beautifully different we all are.
I'll be here every Thursday with a new Self-Expression Springboard. I hope you'll join me.
This Week's Creative Catalyst: What Masks Do You Wear?
Halloween has just passed us by, a celebration so close to my heart. I love the creativity that is inspired around the festivities of Halloween. Especially, the magic and self-expression that dances around the act of costuming....who do you get to be? Ooooohhh....who do you really want to be?
Of course there are masks for play and disguise, metaphorical masks we wear to fit in at work, at home, out in the world. Masks to flirt and evoke our own powerful selves. I invite you to take Masks as your Springboard this week, and explore it in whichever way feels most valuable or delicious.
What Masks are you done with wearing?
What Masks do you want to create?
What Masks have you worn and loved? What was it about those Masks that was so intriguing?
Making a mask is obviously a fun possibility for this week's Springboard. But as always, your imagination has no limits. Find where the fun is for you.
Any way you choose is expressive. Use Self-Expression Springboards and see where they take you!
Funny. I just wrote a post that I think fits perfectly with your theme of Masks. Of course, it would be cheating to say that I did it as a result of your wonderful springboard prompt, so I will write on this tomorrow. Or maybe paint something. Or write a poem. I will mull on this :)
