Jamie Ridler of Starshyne Productions participated in this awesome interview meme. Here is Jamie describing the meme:
"Now here's a power pack. The sassy and spectacular Michelle Ward of When I Grow Up Coach met up with White Hot Truth
Soothsayer Danielle LaPorte and created this kick-butt interview meme.
Michelle designed special questions just for me and I'll answer them at
the end. I'll play along too and if you decide you'd like me to create
5 interview questions just for you, I would love to."
How could I resist Jamie's brilliant questions? She sent them to me and I resisted looking at them until right now when I could sit and blog my response. I wanted to keep this as authentically like an interview as possible.
I too will be playing along. If you would like to be interviewed by me, I would enjoy creating questions for you.
THE INTERVIEW RULES
* leave me a comment with your email address saying: “interview me”
* I will e-mail you five questions of my choice
* you can then answer the questions on your blog {with a link back to my blog}
* you should also post these rules, along with an offer to interview anyone else who emails you, wanting to be interviewed
* anyone who asks to be interviewed should be sent 5 questions to answer on their blog
* it would be nice if the questions were individualized for each blogger
My Questions from Jamie
I can see my buckwheat beeswax candle burning, the sun pouring in over my plants and sculptures that make up an altar under my window. To the right of me is a desk surface fully covered with images and text laid out as I have begun to create a vision board. The focus for this vision board is my clients; what I want to create for my present clients and the clients I am wishing to attract into my coaching practice.
This sight represents the balance of my day. I am focused on my work, and allowing my business to be a creative process. I am also grounding myself spiritually. I am allowing the space to take care of myself as I'm feeling called to today, with a little extra attention.
AUgh! Oh what a great question. I would begin by renting out Body Blitz, a water therapy spa here in Toronto, and hang out there with all of my girlfriends (the spa is for women only). I would treat everyone to any special body treatments they desired. While we were there, I would dream up ways I could spend the rest of my week...
I would leave the spa, and pay off all my outstanding debt (including my mortgage, of course) and take my sugar out to celebrate by going on a shopping spree so that both of us could have an entirely new wardrobe that makes us feel really, really gooooood.
The next day I'd stay here in Toronto but blow money like a tourist who has a week to live. I love the city I live in, and there is so much culture and fun at my fingertips that I have yet to experience. I'd rent a Smart Car (just cause I've always wanted to try one, and city driving is perfect for them) and fly around with my baby, eating at the finest restaurants and buying concert tickets last minute.
With the rest of my week, I'd rent (hey, if money is no object, I'd just buy it) a big beautiful cottage by some water and let all of our loved ones know that we'll be up there chillin' with the most delicious food and drink and music. Everyone is welcome to join us, and I'll pay for whatever kind of transportation they need to get there. We can dance, sleep, read, swim, canoe, hula hoop, cook, talk, relax. Just be ourselves, with no place to go. If anyone had to miss work, I would pay them whatever they needed to make up the vacation.
This answer would be different if you asked me each day.
Wouldn't this be a great question to answer each day? Ahh....
Most people I've met in my adulthood get a real kick when I tell them I was co-captain of my high school cheerleading squad. I'm irrationally competitive when it comes to board games of chance (like Parcheesi), and disinterested in games that require intellect or pure skill (like chess). Other surprises are things I wouldn't publish on a blog.
But there are surprises alright.
Oh yes.
I believe that my fish can understand me and that they know their names. Alice just passed away, and now there is only Henry.
Life Really Is Beautiful: Life Coach, Creative Self Expressionist and Writer Danette Relic on Her Life as One Big Work of Art.
What delicious responses. I felt like I was sitting in the room with you, feeling that sun stream in and listening to you share your stories. How wonderful.
I'm sorry to hear about Alice.

What fun questions and delicious answers! I could visualize you there in your studio, bathed in sunlight with a huge dreamy thought-bubble over your head. :)
Did someone say spa and cottage? I felt my spine unclenching as I read that :)
I send a shout out to Alice who is exploring the great fishbowl in the sky. Wait. I think she just whispered something. "Thank you Danette!" :)

Lady, I like the way you dream!
(I love SmartCars too...it's a pity they can't carry hoops)
I would love to hear more about your ideal wardrobe!
